Frequently Asked Questions and Enquiries The tip of my lip liner (or other pencil-type product) has turned white. Why is this? The white powder-type substance on the tip means that the fatty acid, one of the ingredients, has undergone a minor crystallisation. You might feel a little hardness in your lip liner at first, but there is no cause for concern regarding usability or safety. This phenomenon can happen in pencil-type beauty products such as lipliners, eyeliners or eyebrow make-up, and is called “blooming”. This is the same phenomenon as the white discolouration sometimes seen on the surface of chocolate. It does not affect product quality. Search by Product Category Questions about skin care.
